i am a 17 year old boy who is trying to regrow his hair.the problem is is that whenever i had hair my dad would shave it off.(not all of it,but enough to where it was so short that that you couldn't even pinch a strand of hair with your fingers).finally he has allowed me and my brother to grow our hair the way we want it,but mine is getting all curly and it is hard to keep straight without gel.the problem with me using gel is that it makes my hair look greasy,but it is the only way to keep my bangs nice and neat.i am planning on getting my edges trimmed up especially in the back and around my ears.in the back the end curl,so does the hair on the side of my head.and whenever i take a shower and my hair is drying my hair curls so that i have to keep brushing it every 10-15 minutes to keep my hair the way i want it.is there any way to make it straight?is there anything i can get at a grocery store for guys to to straighten hair?

omgosh dont listen to people saying to chemically straighten or relax ur hair. it is sooooo damaging!! and expensive. my husband has curly hair to, and he straightens his with a 1" flat iron.

get a straightening cream like loreal studio straightening cream and put it in ur hair after u shower. and then let ur hair air dry (%26amp; u dont have to brush it every 10 minutes like u were doing) then just run the flat iron throught the parts u want straight.

Flat iron works well but is time consuming! Don't listen to anyone who tell you that straightening is damaging. It's only damaging if you do it yourself purchasing it from a drug store or Walmart. You have to get it done professionally or if you know a hairdresser that can get you a straightening formula from a place like Sally Beauty Supply. Their products work very well, make you hair very soft and manageable AND very inexpensive ($4) ! I have been a hairdresser for 23 years and I do my sons girlfriends hair with the stuff all the time and it works very well and did not damage her hair.
