you can't crimp your hair with a straightener. if you could it would be called a crimper.

Without a crimping attachment, it would be pretty difficult and time consuming if you did. What about wetting your hair and having it braided in several braids. When it is dry and you unbraid it, it looks sort of crimped.

well a straightener is certainly not going to give you the effect you want. I would suggest purchasing a crimper for like $15. But if you are looking for a free way to get that look, braid your hair when its semi-damp and wear it to bed.

if you are pressed for cash, the best way to get the crimped look is to wash it and braid it before you go to sleep, then when you wake you can do a touch up with the straightener. the thing is to do that you been a small straightener, not one of those huge ones. put the straightener in one spot starting at the root on a one inch section of hair then twist the straightener one half turn up, then move down on the same section of hair, and twist the straightener one half a turn down. then just keep alternating. up then down. this takes a long time, but usually looks great. if you have hair spray add just a little to keep you look in place. i get a better look doing this than i would with a tripple barrel, or even a old style crimper.

A straightener does the opposite of crimping - it's there to take any crimps out. So you cannot crimp your hair with a straightener.

You can make your hair wavy with a straightener. It won't exactly crimp it, it will just make it wavy. Move the straightener down your hair as if you were straightening it, except move it back and forth (in the same motion you would use if you were drawing wavy hair) instead of moving it straight down.

You could always use a curling iron to crimp it but it would take 4ever! I would just go buy a crimper. Oh also you could put your hair in braides over night %26amp; in the morning take it out and ur hair will be crimped. But be carful you dont want to look like a chia pet.
