Straightening your hair?

Is it bad to straighten your hair everyday...like 5 days a week? I'm hispanic and my hair gets poofy in the morning and I don't want to put gel or crap in my hair, cause it gets crunchy and the wet look. I do it in the morning for work all the time. I use the Remington Wet 2 Straight..it's good also for wet hair and it says it doesn't damage. What are your opinions? My hair doesn't look bad, but I'm concerned will it damage it or cause major breakage??? Thanks, happy Thanksgiving!!

Straightening your hair?

Noo it's not bad at all, I straighten my hair 7 days a week and my hair dresser says my hair is moist and full. But you should consition your hair every night to help restore mositure. Don't hold the straighter in one spot too long thats never good.. Happy thanks giving to you too!!

Straightening your hair?

I am lazy and let my hair stay wavy at times but I use a flat iron and the vo5 heat styler and I haven't seen any damage to my hair and I've been doing it for the past 5 years 4 to 5 times a week on my hair.

i have remington wet 2 straight too

its okay its still not to good for your hair

i say that before u straighten ur hair

to keep it even silkyer and not to damage it as much

put in straighting serum before u straightin ur hair

try blowdrying it straight

or use pantteene pro v time renewal shampoo its pretty good

Try to blow dry it straight as much as possible. Then when you go through it w/ a flat iron (use a ceramic one), you should use a thermal protecter product. If you don't like products, use a ceramic flat iron w/ different heat settings and put it on low!

back atcha! umm, lets see, well straightening can be damaging, but they have a product called silk elements, and it keeps your hair healthy and silky when you straigthen it. its at most beauty supply stores

if you straighten your hair too much it will eventually break off from the heat. but if you use some product to help breakage it should be fine. you could try: Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade.~ to prevent breakage

Or: CHI Silk Fusion~ to make your hair silky

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Straightening your hair?

I straighten my hair almost everyday and i have curly hair. I never blow dry it. I let it dry naturally and i apply biosilk silk therapy and another frizz serum. Then i use a ceramic straightner called Sedu to straighten it. As, long as you take good care of your hair and do a deep coniditoning treatment or hot oil once in a while and make sure to use some kind of serum before you straighten it it should be fine. Also, all straighteners no matter how great do cause damage to your hair.

Straightening your hair?

hey, im not hispanic, but i touch up my hair with a flat iron every morning. like i wash my hair and straighten it 3-4 times a week. then every morning before school, i straighten it again because it gets a bit wavy when i sleep. i dont like gels or products either. i have a Sedu flat iron, its amazing, i love it!! it was a bit expensive, but my mom researched it and bought it from the company over the internet. see, my hair is so frizzy and curly, and this flat iron leaves me with flat, straight hair. stylists will say that excessive heat from flat irons or blow dryers can dry out your hair, and using the flat iron can cause split or broken hair. i use biosilk when i am done straightening my hair, it leaves it soft and helps prevent the broken hair (you can use the biosilk when you hair is wet or when its dry). if you cant seem to decide on anything, i would go to a salon and ask them for their opinions (although, dont let them hassel you into buying anything you dont want to buy). hoped that helped a bit.

happy thanksgiving!!

Straightening your hair every day is a bit damaging, but so it curling it, blowdrying it, etc. The best you can do is make sure to put a heat protecting styling product on your hair prior to straightening it, and making sure you keep your hair well hydrated. (using deep conditioning treatements, hot oil treatments, leave in conditioners, etc.)

I straighten my hair every single day as well. I would suggest using a heat protecting spray such as Loreal Miracle Mist, That is what I use, and its not greasy like some of the others I have tried. Plus it has a pleasant smell.

i have the same problem. my hairdresser suggested that i use a deep conditioner (try bumble and bumble's super rich conditioner) on my hair once a week to help moisturize it. Brush your hair out while the conditioner's still in- it's a lot easier on your hair. Also, if you blow dry your hair every day, let it air dry for a while first so it doesn't get damaged. If you're not going anywhere, let your hair rest and don't flat iron it. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem.

hey. i have naturally curly hair, and i hate it, so i straightening mine pretty much everyday. i just use some kind of a heat damage spray or serum on it. i like the tressame (spelling ?) or also this cirti-shine that helps it shine and protects against the heat of the flat iron all the same time. plus it does a good job with humidity and keeping your hair straight all day. and my hair is very curly.
