Is gel damaging?

No.

Straightening and bleaching would have to be the worst things you could do to your hair.

Is gel damaging?

it does just a little but only if u do it very often straightning it is much worse thought

Is gel damaging?

indeed it does my sister is in air cadets and gels her hair up all the time... it clogs up your roots.. my sis is loosing alot of her hair because of it

Is gel damaging?

Well it depends on your hair type and the kind of gel that you use and about straightening your hair most of the time you can only wash your hair once a week or your hair will no longer be straight and when you go without washing your hair and you use gel you will have some serious dandruff.

The alcohol in the gel is what damages the hair because it is drying. You can get gels without alcohol, I believe Redkin has one. Straightening again is damaging to the hair because of the drying effect, not to mention burning it if done incorrectly. They sell special solutions for straightening that should help coat your hair and provide some form of protection, which is better than nothing at all.

Is gel damaging?

No gel is not damaging on your hair but it can be a little drying if you use a really cheap gel due to the high alcohol content, however the straightening of your hair if done with a flat iron is going to be more damaging.

Look. listen. keep the iron moving. _Watch_ for breakage. If you hear a sound when you comb it fast, it may be breaking. COmb it slow. Use medium hold gel (not extra hold) and dont let the ironsit still on any part of your hair. Repeat the section and move it sllloowww but dont keep it still. shake if it stops moving. Find a product with silicone for this. Use moisturizer not one for "extra body" because these are ususally drying.
