How to manage curly hair?

Hallo.

I have naturally curly, wavy hair.

When I first wash it, my hair is curly, silky, and very healthy-looking. However, the next morning, my hair is flattened, frizzy-looking, and messy. When I try to brush it, my hair looks even worse.

I've stopped using products like spray, mousse, and gel, because they have damaged my hair. I only wash my hair once or twice a week.

I once used a deep conditioner, but that only restored my hair for a week.

Can anyone recommend any ways for me to manage my naturally curly hair, without using products?

Is there a way I can restore it with a deep conditioner that has long-lasting results?

Thanks in advance.

have a deep conditioning treatment. its lasts a month for me but only because i use moderate products. it does make your hair feel refreshed though. my hair is the same way. i wish it always looks the way it does straight out the shower. alternative: eat alot of wild salmon.

you're welcome

i can tell you how i do it

first i wash my hair once a week with sunsilk anti poof shampoo and conditioner.

while the conditioner is in- i comb it through. start at the bottom and work your way up. this will eliminate or at least greatly reduce breakage.

i towel dry my hair and then i apply john frieda's anti frizz hair serum. i only put about a dime size of it.

i comb the serum through with my fingers.

i go to the salon once a month too get my deep conditioner done. it lasts a lot longer that way. i make a day of it. i do my hair. i get my waxing done. i do my nails and toes.

i get it all done in one day so i don't have to worry about it for another month.

Wash your hair in the morning, not at night. That gives you at least one day of good hair. Use a conditioner for dry hair, or for curly hair. I wash my hair every second day: it isn't dirty yet, but after that it starts looking very raggedy in the morning. If I put a little gel or mousse in on the third day, it looks much better (I dilute it with water, so it's too little to damage my hair or look unnatural).

Don't brush your hair when it is dry. Comb it while wet, and then leave it to dry naturally. The next morning, comb it very lightly and mostly just at the top of your head, trying not to break up the curls. If you must brush it, wet your hands afterwards and run them through your hair. This will re-form the curls.
