Can you put a large bottle of hair spray in your checked luggage with out there being a problem??

OK. so im going to France and i knew that if you wanted to bring hairspray or gel into the plane as carry-on luggage it MUST be 3 ounces or less of weight. But does this restriction apply if you put the hair spray or gel in your checked luggage?

And if you do put it in your checked luggage, do they search your bag before you aboard the plane, or do theyput it throught a machine and it checks it. im very confused, if you can help, PLEASE do so.

You could put it in the checked luggage without problems. As for your carry-on luggage, I can't remember if only the machine checks it or if a person does too, but either way, if you have liquids there it's just going to delay you. Also, if you do bring liquids/gels on your carry-on (3oz. or less), put them in a zip lock bag. The last time I flew I was given a zip lock bag to put them in but was told they don't always have enough to give each person and that everyone's responsible for bringing their own (if there was no zip lock bag, I'd have to throw everything out). This was when I flew a year ago, I don't know if all the rules still apply.

I recently traveled oversees, and its a pain in the rear no matter what! :) No, you should not have a problem with the hairspray being in your checked luggage. They will scan it thru a machine to check for bombs and that sort, and if they do open it and search it, its done randomly. You should be fine, if its just in your checked luggage.

Usually you are not adviced to pack in any spray or aerosol. Cause it might just burst in ur luggage because of cabin pressure. Just buy it over there in France.
