People with curly hair??

I have naturally curly hair and I hate using gel and hairspray because it makes it look hard. I have to put some sort of product in it because otherwise it would be too frizzy. Any product reccommendations or special tips that make it look softer?

Hiya, I understand what you mean cos I have curly hair as well, I dont use any gel but I use hair food, it keeps it shiny and moist and soft too. Also, try to get hair oil, I use a product called Vatika, its to be used once in a week, it makes your hair very soft and easy to comb. Another thing I started doing is when I wash my hair, I use the shampoo as normal, but when it comes to conditioning, I leave it on my hair for at least 10 to 15 minutes and it does help, I notice that my hair stays soft and shinny and it does not gets frizzy eventhough it is very curly. After you get outta the shower, just towel dry and use ONLY mouse! Do not put gel, or hairspray in it!

I use Herbal Essences' "Dangerously Straight" shampoo. It works pretty well... it doesn't make it mega-straight but it makes it easier to control and less frizzy.

Garnier fructis style have something called soft curl creme, I use it along with Volumax gel and is awsome, I love it!

Avon has this great product that I use on my daughters hair...

It works wonders.

Or just try a light oil to your hair....It wouldnt hurt!!!

Girl, you've hit my specialty! I have crazy curly hair, and I have been through 22 years of the ringer with it.

This routine will set you up for perfect curly hair.

1. shampoo just your scalp, not your entire head of hair.

2. Use your fingers to comb, or get a comb with ridiculously wide teeth. This keeps frizz down.

3. Use a really rich leave in conditioner in a small amount instead of a gel or serum. These typically have lots of silicone or alcohol in it, and really f curly hair up.

I use a violet shampoo for my blond hair, but anything sans alcohol for dry hair will work

My conditioner is by loreal proffesional, it's called neofibrine mask. I get it from my stylist, but you can get it from the internet. Any rich conditioner will do. It won't dry cruchy, and your curls will form much better.,

Try smoothing milk by garnier frutis. It leaves my hair frizz free and doesn't weight your hair down like gel and leaves it nice and soft unlike hairspray

I know how you feel! I have thick, curly hair and I have tried a million products. Try Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum, ansd also use sport gel in your hair if you want to use a gel one day. But go for the cheaper brands because they work a lot better than the others. I tried the expensive one's first and they don't work as well. Also, I use something called Shine Drops that you can buy at almost any beauty salon. Just ask a hairdresser about it.

I have the same problem. Unfortunately everytime I find something that seems to work it seems to magically stop working shortly thereafter. Besides, I have a friend who has similar hair (or seems to) and products I use don't work in her hair (and visa versa). I recently used a REALLY cheap gel called La Bella and it didn't make my hair hard or crunchy but did take away the frizz. I have also used some creams or serums in the past that worked pretty well but tend to be quite expensive and I seem to go through them very quickly. There is also a serum called Potion 9 that worked pretty well. Best of luck. If you find any other products that work please let me know!! =)

i have curly hair and this is what i do...

After washing i comb out

then i scrunch it and just blow dry the roots...

Then i just use a smidgen of gel and wet my hands

( if my hair is a little frizzy ) and then just continue scrunching ...

Most likely you are using too much gel thats why your hair looks/feels hard.

Just use a regular gel ..i have been using pantene...You dont really need alot. My hair turns out soft and curly...

I am a hairstylist and have many clients with the same curly hair woes! My favorite product for curls is Redkin's "Ringlet", ITS AMAZING! its a curl lotion instead of a gel or spray. So it just adds shine and definition to your curls with out the stiff feel. It smells great and actually nourishes your curls. It runs about 15 bucks a bottle, but a little lasts you a long while (if used correctly, it should last 6 months)
