My hair is fairly heavy so it's difficult to spike it. I was just wondering what would be the best thing to use to spike my hair like this.

My barber told me my hair is too heavy for gel too, so I've been using wax and topping it off with hairspray, but I can only spike the sides of my hair, not the middle, it falls down immediately.

you can do with smoothing first, than you can use wax or gel or something like that. If still doesn't work, you could try wig.
